Not only this is true, but phthalate exposure can disrupt your endocrine system and other health problems could occur in all ages. Your endocrine system regulates your hormones, including those for fertility. It would be best practice to try your best to avoid certain kinds of plastic for your general health and wellbeing.
I really hope you are not panicking at this point, that is not my intention. Although Dr. Swan does believe this is a world crisis. What does this mean for you and I? Avoid plastics with the numbers 3 or 7 to name a few. I did however need to grab your attention to read this article, and penis size is a great focus getter!
I just want to share some interesting although shocking information about phthalate aka plastic exposure. Research is still recent and emerging worldwide.
Phthalate which is pronounced “thalate” are components of many plastic products. To name a few: food wraps, toys, some Tupperware, cosmetics, perfumes and beauty products such as shampoos, nail polish and soaps may contain phthalates.
Recent worldwide research shows that exposure in utero is leading to shrinkage of the anogenital distance aka AGD and shrinking testes and penis size. Also, exposure to phthalates in males can reduce sperm count and testosterone levels. At this rate everyone would need a little help conceiving whether it is from at home insemination kits to IUI and IVF, as projected sperm levels could severely decrease by 2045.
There are some legislations helping to reduce the harm of plastics on our health, and world powers are helping to reduce and prohibit toxic plastics as we now see it’s a problem. But it is up to ourselves to be aware and reduce use and consumption especially in the meantime while more research and legislation is emerging. Some phthalates are hard to regulate by the government. Such as certain cosmetics and fragrances.
A toxicfreefuture.org gives excellent tips on how to “be picky with plastics”. They recommend to use anything but plastic for food and drink storage solutions. Glass dishes and metal water bottles are trending and more accessible.
When you heat up food try to only use glass dishes or ceramic plates. Avoid heating up any plastics or Styrofoam in the microwave. Numbers to avoid: plastic numbers 3 which is PVC found in products like shower curtains, toys and packaging. Also avoid numbers 6 and 7. Numbers that are safe are 2, 4 and 5.
Last, the gold standard of reduce reuse and recycle comes back into play. Instead of bottled water, try a reusable water container other than plastic. With the savings of not purchasing plastic water bottles you could purchase an in home water purification system, I had one once and it tastes amazing!
For now, start looking at what plastic numbers you are using. Like and share this article to your loved ones. Try not to panic or go on a downward spiral rabbit hole on Google, like I did while researching for this blog. Although, please do seek out more research on the topic as this is a super brief article on the current Phthalate health situation and does not address all its effects on the body and what is currently being done about it worldwide.
